XoB: A Tool for Maintaining Mars Society Web Sites

Dean Calahan introduces XoB (a nonsense term), a program written to make maintaining the Society's Technical Task Force websites easier. Written in Perl, XoB makes use of the standard XML:Parser module to transform simple XML files into sophisticated websites. Many people have tried their hands at being webmasters these days, only to discover that maintaining a sophisticated website is a task requiring more attention and care than they might have realized at first. Daunted, they either abandon the task, or retreat to maintaining a less sophisticated site. This is a frustrating experience for them, because the day-to-day work of website maintenance and updating seems like it should be so much easier. Xob will reduce the work involved in maintaining Mars Society Technical Task Force web sites.
